I recently visited Berlin with two of my closest friends from school and managed to get flights and accommodation for just over £200 (please bear in mind, this was before the chaos that the Brexit vote caused!). I’m one for a good bargain, I say it all the time, but I don’t understand why you would pay for something that costs X amount, and you can get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper.
An Overnight Stay & Afternoon Tea at the Edinburgh Capital Hotel
Last weekend I travelled through to Edinburgh with around 16 fabulous ladies for one of my best friend’s hen weekend. We went for a sophisticated itinerary of Chicago at the Playhouse Theatre, Dinner and then some Salsa dancing to finish off. We stayed at the Edinburgh Capital Hotel just on the outskirts of the city and only 1.5 miles from Edinburgh Zoo.
Clydeside & a Night at the Hilton, Glasgow
If you follow me on twitter you will know that I recently won a competition with my local radio station to attend the Ideal Home Show at the SECC in Glasgow last weekend. Part of the prize was also a luxury over night stay at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Isles of Glencoe Hotel & Leisure Centre
As you know, J and I headed up to Glencoe for the weekend as part of our Valentines gifts to each other. (I always say I would rather an experience over a wrapped gift any day!) After a few online deliberations, we chose the Isles of Glencoe to be our choice of destination for the weekend, mainly because of the price, location (on the banks of Loch Leven) and the fact that it had a pool/Jacuzzi facilities – we had an idea the weather might not be the best for all day exploring so we wanted a hotel where we could relax indoors if needed.
My First Hostel Experience & How It Made Me Want To Travel More
For my first post of 2016, I thought I would share a first experience: hosteling. Up until 2012 I had never stayed in a hostel before, and quite frankly never really knew what it involved, the etiquette, prices, room/sleeping arrangements etc. All I knew (or thought I knew) was that I was going to share a bedroom with some strangers and possibly get mugged or worse, murdered in my sleep. I can confirm it was far from that.
The Cutest Hostel In Budapest
So back in 2013, I finished all my university exams and decided before I went travelling around Asia with my boyfriend, that I would fly over to Budapest to meet up with a few girls I knew that were travelling through Europe.
Where We Stayed in Golspie, Scotland
Last week we all traveled up to Golspie for a week for a family birthday. If you don’t know where Golspie is, it’s a tiny little village plopped right up on the East Coast of the Scottish Highlands. It has one main street with about 10 shops, including cute little tea rooms and charity shops. To be honest the giant Co-Op takes away from the secluded feel but is a complete life saver when you need food or drink after 3pm!
