A Luxury Weekend at the Radisson Blu in Bremen

Bremen Radisson Blu

I’m not one to stay in fancy hotels, I normally opt for anything that’s cheap and cheerful. Especially when I’m doing short city breaks and planning on spending as little time inside as possible. But when I found an amazing price on Booking.com for the Radisson Blu for my trip to Bremen, I couldn’t turn it down.

We travelled to Bremen for the May Bank Holiday as a last-minute trip. I wanted to take full advantage of the extra free day off work so decided to take the Friday off as a holiday to make it a 4-day weekend. Bliss! You can read my post here on what we did on our trip.

Discovering the Sights of Bremen

Bremen Marktplatz, Germany

We booked to visit Bremen, Germany on a whim, trying to make the most of the May bank holiday. We looked on SkyScanner, found the cheapest flight and booked it. And thankfully we had enough Euros left over from Ibiza two years ago that we didn’t need spending money. Bremen is in the North West of Germany, and has plenty of sights easily reachable on foot. The Main Square (Marktplatz) is a hub of tourists, restaurants, historical culture and iconic gothic and renaissance architecture. We spent three days wandering Bremen and discovering what this beautiful city had to offer. Spoiler alert: a lot!

6 Alternative Things to Do in Berlin

Ok, I covered all the main sites and attractions in last weeks post, but now it’s time to go over some of the alternative things that I found in the city that I didn’t find in any guide book or blog post. Things I Noticed: A Berlin Photo Diary

Berlin was jam packed with weird, wonderful and quirky things at every corner; and that was one of the main reasons why I was initially drawn to Berlin and ultimately fell in love with it. I think I might start making this into a series, I love ahowing you all a side to the places I visit that don’t really fit into regular informative posts (see my Thailand Zoo one here).

How To Spent a Weekend in Berlin: The Sites

Berlin Wall

The fact this post is live means I’ve been to Berlin, explored the city and now I’m home. Sad times! Last week I travelled to Berlin with two of my closest friends to explore what Germany had to offer. Part of the reason we chose Berlin was simply because I’ve always wanted to go, and partly because the flights and accommodation were so cheap (see my post here on how I managed to travel for £225).

A Weekend in Berlin for under £225

I recently visited Berlin with two of my closest friends from school and managed to get flights and accommodation for just over £200 (please bear in mind, this was before the chaos that the Brexit vote caused!). I’m one for a good bargain, I say it all the time, but I don’t understand why you would pay for something that costs X amount, and you can get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper.
