With family living in Murcia, we couldn’t say no to a little bus trip down to Cartagena (not to be confused with Colombia’s Cartagena – we are still on mainland Spain!). Cartagena is a small town located within the region of Murcia, and it is home to one of the most important trade and defensive ports in modern history. So let’s take a walk through some it’s most fun and interesting sights. (But be sure to keep in mind of that siesta time, as some places close early!).
During our week long adventure on the beautiful island of Ibiza, we hired a Catamaran and headed off on a day trip around the equally (if not more) idyllic island of Espalmador.
Espalmador is a little piece of land just off the coast of Formentera, yet another stunning Balaeric Island. It doesnt have much on it other than pristine sands, but thats all you need when you have a Catamaran full of beer and Sangria, and a Captain lighting up the BBq, right?
I’ve filtered through the thousands of images I took while in Ibiza in September and gathered a few of the Old Town that were just so inspiring. The photo’s don’t do the atmosphere and vibe any justice, but hopefully these photos will give you a small glimpse into this gem of a place.
We spend our afternoon wandering around the narrow, winding cobbled streets – stopping at every little market stall. Afterwards we walked up to the Dalt Villa fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Hope you enjoy!
So for our annual holiday this year, we decided we wanted to find somewhere where we could relax during the day, sunbathe, swim etc but come night time we didnt want to be stuck to hotel entertainment. We had never went on a package holiday so we were unsure of what to expect.
Cue The White Isle!
