The Hotel Barcelo Santiago is a luxury four star all inclusive hotel hugging the ragged coastline of Tenerife’s Puerto de Santiago resort. It offers visitors breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the island of Gomera and the famous Los Gigantes cliffs.
A Luxury Weekend at the Radisson Blu in Bremen
I’m not one to stay in fancy hotels, I normally opt for anything that’s cheap and cheerful. Especially when I’m doing short city breaks and planning on spending as little time inside as possible. But when I found an amazing price on Booking.com for the Radisson Blu for my trip to Bremen, I couldn’t turn it down.
We travelled to Bremen for the May Bank Holiday as a last-minute trip. I wanted to take full advantage of the extra free day off work so decided to take the Friday off as a holiday to make it a 4-day weekend. Bliss! You can read my post here on what we did on our trip.
A Relaxing Stay at Loch Lomond Waterfront
After visiting Golspie last winter, I knew that I wanted to spend more time visiting new places in Scotland. And with the idea that we weren’t doing a big trip this year in order to save for a big one in 2017, we decided a few days up in Loch Lomond would quench my thirst for more natural Scottish goodness.
Staying In The Heart of Krakow’s Old Town: Hotel Jan
I travelled over to Poland as part of my birthday week. I had always wanted to visit Auschwitz but was quite unaware of Krakow and its surrounding landscape. After a little research, I found a hotel overlooking the Vistula river but when I went to book it was full. But fear not, we found Hotel Jan and it was an absolute gem. More people need to know about it.
Trying out Airbnb in Berlin
As someone who loves travel and is a 21st Century kid, I need to keep up with the times! And that means jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to new and innovative ways of using technology and the internet to get the best rate flights, accommodation and tours. Lo and Behold, Airbnb was born!
Clydeside & a Night at the Hilton, Glasgow
If you follow me on twitter you will know that I recently won a competition with my local radio station to attend the Ideal Home Show at the SECC in Glasgow last weekend. Part of the prize was also a luxury over night stay at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Isles of Glencoe Hotel & Leisure Centre
As you know, J and I headed up to Glencoe for the weekend as part of our Valentines gifts to each other. (I always say I would rather an experience over a wrapped gift any day!) After a few online deliberations, we chose the Isles of Glencoe to be our choice of destination for the weekend, mainly because of the price, location (on the banks of Loch Leven) and the fact that it had a pool/Jacuzzi facilities – we had an idea the weather might not be the best for all day exploring so we wanted a hotel where we could relax indoors if needed.
My First Hostel Experience & How It Made Me Want To Travel More
For my first post of 2016, I thought I would share a first experience: hosteling. Up until 2012 I had never stayed in a hostel before, and quite frankly never really knew what it involved, the etiquette, prices, room/sleeping arrangements etc. All I knew (or thought I knew) was that I was going to share a bedroom with some strangers and possibly get mugged or worse, murdered in my sleep. I can confirm it was far from that.
The Cutest Hostel In Budapest
So back in 2013, I finished all my university exams and decided before I went travelling around Asia with my boyfriend, that I would fly over to Budapest to meet up with a few girls I knew that were travelling through Europe.
Where We Stayed in Golspie, Scotland
Last week we all traveled up to Golspie for a week for a family birthday. If you don’t know where Golspie is, it’s a tiny little village plopped right up on the East Coast of the Scottish Highlands. It has one main street with about 10 shops, including cute little tea rooms and charity shops. To be honest the giant Co-Op takes away from the secluded feel but is a complete life saver when you need food or drink after 3pm!
