Where We Stayed in Golspie, Scotland

Last week we all traveled up to Golspie for a week for a family birthday. If you don’t know where Golspie is, it’s a tiny little village plopped right up on the East Coast of the Scottish Highlands. It has one main street with about 10 shops, including cute little tea rooms and charity shops. To be honest the giant Co-Op takes away from the secluded feel but is a complete life saver when you need food or drink after 3pm!

We stayed in a giant five bedroom farmhouse on the outskirts of the village complete with two en-suite grand bedrooms, giant kitchen, dining room, games room and lo and behold.. Sky TV and wifi! It truly was a perfect getaway, it had the quintessential country life feel while not taking you completely away from society.

The owners of this grand manor hadn’t scrimped on the details of this home either, with beautiful little additions peppered throughout the house. After taking a wander around the vintage shops we began to notice a few little things that were included in the house, and they weren’t on the cheap. These guys really did go all out to bring luxury to our stay at Drummuie House.

We spent our days enjoying the highland scenery, seal watching and drinking hot tea from a spotty teapot. Our night were then filled with everyone packed around the dining table and playing Pictionary around the open fire.

So grab your fur-lined ankle boots, beanie and waterproof jacket and head up to this little gem of a house. I can only imagine how amazing it is in the summer months.
